The G DATA Antivirus app is an additional layer of security for your Nextcloud server. Easily scan files for malicious content.

  • 🚀 Integration with the Flow App! Use the tags to trigger flows
  • ☢️ Blocks uploads of malicious files! Prevents the upload of malicious files by scanning them on upload
  • 🙋 User notifications! Users are notified about the scan results
  • 🕵️‍♂️ Automatic scans! Automatically scans all files in the background
  • Customize what should and should not be scanned! Configuration via Block- and Allowlist
  • Use the activity app! See what happened in your Nextcloud instance
  • no additional software required! The app uses the G DATA Verdict as a Service (VaaS) API to scan files

Getting started

This app is based on the G DATA Verdict as a Service (VaaS) API. To get started with the app, you must either register via our registration page or host the backend yourself. If you have any questions about self-hosting the backend, please contact us by email or take a look at this repository containing the Helm charts.

After the registration you can use these credentials within your nextcloud installation. To do this go to your Administration Settings.

There you will find the "Verdict-as-a-Service" section under the "Administration" section.

Please make sure the "Authentication Method" "Resource Owner Password Flow" is selected. Now you can put your credentials into the 'username' and 'password' field and click save afterwards.

I have nexcloud running on a server where I don't have full access to. So this is for me the best way to have an antivirus running.
