Allows users to create a hash checksum of a file. Possible algorithms are md5, sha1, sha256, sha384, sha512, sha3-256, sha3-512 and crc32.

Just open the details view of the file (Sidebar). There should be a new tab called "Checksum".
Select a algorithm and it will try to generate a hash.
If you want an other algorithm, just click on the reload button.

Another great addition to NextCloud like the zip extension. Before sharing, I can easily create the hash. Share the file with a password. Go over to the "Secrets" app (fyi: the secrets app is just one of the best apps ever for NextCloud), create a secret with the password and hash. The end user then can verify the file is correct file and the share transfer succeed correctly.

Development (bots not counted in): seldom (probably feature complete after 13 years of development and now only maintained)

Issues: more solved than unresolved ones

Project management: no

Documentation: brief (readme)

Localization: yes (continuous)

Releases: frequent (changelog)

Adds a simple but much needed feature for transferring important files. Could be better if getting checksums from multiple files wasn't laborious.

This is an excellent app that does exactly what it says it does. Was very happy they added an icon to the sidebar so now it looks like it belongs.

Working good but no icon for the Checksum-tab in the sidebar. Looks a bit off. :)

Great add-on. I like to double-check if upload of a big file is a success plus I can check checksum before downloading in case I have a exact same version on local drive.
