Development stalled lately.

Much more unresolved issues than resolved ones :-(

Relatively frequently released.

It's a good start, but many outstanding issues, and slow updates.

A promising app, one that is on its way to become an absolute must-have.

Very happy with this app. It is a good alternative to Google Keep. Keep up the good work!

This is without doubt, one of the most promising self-hosted open source note taking application out there. I have an eye upon it and follow its evolution constantly. Developers are working hard to make a very good application indeed. It can be hugely improved yet, like sharing and collaborative editing notes, improved TODO list, one-page creation and editing notes with modal forms, link previews, nextcloud file attachment, Google Keep note import... but I rate the app as "good" as I think anyone should try it and feedback developers.

Unfortunately didn't move from Google Keep yet because I found TODO lists still on early stages and I think it need some work to be useful.

Overall a great note taking app that integrates with my Nextcloud instance and there is a mobile app that works great on mobile.

I agree,

Its getting better after each release. Can't wait the Ubuntu app and the Android app version to also get the update and finally sync all. Love it

I'm in Ubuntu workstation 18.04 testing it with Chrome.

I'm happy to see Carnet in the Ubuntu Software list, Opened the shopping bag today, and did the one-click install. The default font was cool, but I would have used it on a party invitation, not an intro; here I had to copy and paste "Let's discover Carnet" in order to read it. I believe it's called "Inspiration" font.

After the 3 welcome screens, I also had to copy/paste "Connect with your own WebDAV/Nextcloud server" to know what I was clicking.

Then the stupid Google Takeout zip file unpacked in the downloads folder instead of a new subfolder as I expected it to. That's on them. I put them in a subfolder that would be easy to find given the illegible font, and the import screen seemed to hang a long time after it was finished. I found out it was done by clicking the main window and that caused the import status window to vanish.

The import was partly successful. I used nearly every tweak Google Keep let me put into a note, so the simple notes imported well and the complex ones did not. I get a lot of "Error occured: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'data' of null" and "Error occured: Uncaught TypeError: fullDB is not iterable" when opening notes in the Nextcloud browser. I thought the images weren't imported till I clicked the MEDIA menu; I'll assume in the future this will be different and images will display inline sized by tags. My notes that were checklists are now just a hollow square character as the first character in a bullet point list. Same for partially finished lists, but it's the checked box character. The colorized-ePaper from Keep didn't come through on import. I'm missing the location-based and date/ time-based reminders that were the reason Keep was worth using despite it being Google; I'll assume in the future this will exist. Google erroneously added meta-data (very long) from a link in a note to the Keywords list and you didn't import it which is good. For some reason, the Grammarly plugin of my Chrome browser isn't looking at the notes, and right-clicks are not working. Keywords already used aren't listed as buttons to avoid typos (they started working before I finished the review, but not in the Desktop program), (Also, the imported notes don't have the keyword filters imported into Carnet's database, just newly created notes built in Carnet.).

Deleting a note worked, and it propagated to the desktop app but I had to restart the desktop app to stop seeing the placard for the deleted note. Your media audio record is very cool, but the close dialogue button is a floppy disk icon; confusing.

Oh, and their's a Keyword list in the Desktop program that doesn't appear in the Nextcloud browser sidebar or the android app. I assume that's a note filtering device, but it's not working for me yet. Also, that keyword list in the Desktop app vanished after clicking Settings and then Browser again.

Something is wrong with the Synch too. A note in the Recent area created in the Chrome Browser via Nextcloud was altered into an empty note without a title when the Desktop program tried to synch after opening. After editing it in Chrome it didn't sync back. A new note was made in Recent with the Desktop browser and it never synced to the Nextcloud, but the note that was in the Chrome browser under recent vanished. I think you might just be moving them to the main Browser area, but maybe you could do it with a hidden keyword instead? Also, the "Keep" folder keeps reappearing despite me removing it. Bad sync mo-jo.

Oh, and the Desktop app doesn't show 5-point stars for the note importance rating, just Stone Henge rectangles that tilt when clicked.

Apart from that stuff I really like it. It's a great start in beta mode. Can't wait to see where it goes to next.
